| The
Kitchen Light Project Headed By:
We are currently looking at starting a fundraising sale and awareness
campaign promoting low-consumption lightbulbs in every household across
Muskoka. We are thinking of taking these bulbs door-to-door, selling
them at supporting businesses and putting them in Christmas hampers that
are distributed by local good-will organizations.
Community Garden
Headed By:
A community garden would be a great educational tool for the
community, as well as a place to make friends and create a means of
local produce.
Bring Your Own Bag
Headed By:
So many plastic bags are sitting at the dump, failing to decompose,
and even those at the recycling plant slowly collecting dirt as there is
no one interested in the materials. Bringing your own bag is such an
easy, obvious way to keep the amount of pollution we create down. Who
doesn't have a few empty cloth bags lying around the house that they
could keep in the car for shopping?
Pesticide Free Muskoka
Headed By:
Pesticides create breathing problems, skin and eye irritation, and
cause death and illness for so many things other than weeds. Dandelions
never hurt anyone, you can even eat them. Are those pretty yellow
puffballs really getting you down. If something like that is depressing
you, maybe the cure to your sadness is a little fresh air, exercise and
vitamin D, and what better way is there to get those things that getting
out on your lawn and pulling those suckers out of the ground with your
own two hands?
