Donations Appreciated
Free Methodist International Childcare Ministries:
Our denomination sponsors needy children in almost all of the 77 countries where we have a mission established. If you are having a difficult time getting a gift for someone who "has everything," why not sponsor a child, or give a donation towards literacy in India, the food programs in Burundi or Haiti, or helping the Philippine street children of Davao, Philippines? These funds help someone who would otherwise have a very much more difficult life. Please contact iccm@fmc-canada.org or www.childcareministries.net for more information.
Sanctuary Carpet Fund
Our current wall-to-wall carpet is 30 years old, and needs replacing. Funds have started coming in. If you would like to help us with this, please write "Ryde Centennial FM Church" on the "pay to" line, and "carpet fund" on the memo line of your cheque. A carpet committee has offered 4 selections to the Trustees to choose from. Actual installation won't happen until August as we'll need to move the pews and other furniture out of the sanctuary. "Guestimated" cost will be around $5000 - $7000, hopefully a bit less. Thank you for helping us with this project.
Aluminum Can Pull Tabs
Please save your aluminum can pull tabs for Mrs. Bert Parke. She gives them to a company who melts them down and makes them into wheelchairs.
Christian Salvage Mission
If you have good, gently used, Christian literature (hymnals, magazines, Sunday school papers, books, Bibles, etc.), please give them to Mrs. Carl Break. She will pass them on to someone else for use in other organizations.
Other:
A couple of people have expressed interest in donating stained glass windows in memory of someone or a family. The Official Board and this Society have decided on the following guidelines:
(a) all such windows are to go in the triangle-shaped tops of the current windows, on the inside of the glass now there (there are 10 such areas)
(b) design and colours must reflect the purpose of the building
(c) a coloured drawing must be submitted to the Official Board for approval before work is done, and
(d) these windows must be installed in such a way to continue the symmetry of the building's decor.
(Note: Our first stained glass window has been installed, and it is beautiful.)
