Waterfalls

With its numerous river systems Muskoka has a bountiful supply of scenic falls, many in the centres of towns and villages. Spring is the best time to enjoy them to their fullest, when water levels are at their peaks from winter run-off.

HIGH FALLS

The highest falls in the district is 23 metres, and one of the most easily accessed -- just off Hwy #11, north of Bracebridge. High Falls Park is for day-use, with picnic grounds and a swimming area.

MUSKOKA FALLS

Can be seen from Hwy #11 near Bracebridge, but best appreciated from the hamlet of Muskoka Falls. A portage route takes you to the base of the falls.

WILSON'S FALLS

This pretty cascade on the east side of Bracebridge is the focus of a new walking path in town.

BRACEBRIDGE FALLS

A world famous park right at Muskoka's doorstop. A vast wilderness with an abundance of northern species like moose, timber wolves and black bear. Take Hwy #60 out of Huntsville and follow the signs.

BALA FALLS
