Accommodations
Woodland Springs Bed and Breakfast

A stay at Woodland Springs is designed to be a relaxing experience, a time to ‘getaway from it all.’  Curl up in the wrap-around sunroom, complete with a view of the lake, with a good book from their library. Grab a power nap in a favourite corner couch, or join in a conversation circle in their early 1900’s wicker furniture. The gregarious can enter the Grand "gathering room"  -- 600 square feet with a 5-foot deep pink granite fireplace, enhanced by a beamed ceiling and antique wall sconce. It comes with surround sound, a piano, comfortable couches and chairs, along with antique pieces.

For the more ambitious there is a superb waterfront with kayaks and canoes, 40 acres of private woodlands for hiking, (or cross-country skiing in the winter), and birdwatching, with a long list of things to do nearby.

Offering traditional ‘Olde Muskoka Comfort’ in their near century cottage, (built in 1908) the Musselman’s “endeavor to provide you with the comfort of home, the friendliness of small town life, a part of history and a truly enjoyable visit.”

Located near Huntsville, Woodland Springs B&B has been owned and enhanced for close to 70 years -- 4 generations -- of the Musselman family, originally of Mennonite origin.

Their B&B offers 3 bedrooms, with 2 shared guest bathrooms on the main floor -one 2 piece and one 4 piece. Each bedroom is decorated on the theme of its heirloom quilt – the Poppy Room, the Wildflower Room and the Sunflower Room. Two rooms each have a double bed and the other room a 3/4 poster and a twin.

Woodland Springs offers 2 breakfast choices. The Continental is served between 7:00 to 8:00’ish a.m., while the ‘Hot abundant’ is served between 8:00 to 9:30’ish a.m., and features Muskoka and Mennonite Specialties. Enjoy your breakfast in either the "Perch" gazebo, or the "Rock Pier" gazebo, both glassed dining areas, or the dockside. All include a view overlooking the lake.

Hostess Gaye Musselman is well known for her delectable recipes, some of which have appeared in several cookbooks by author and chef Pamela Steel. She even has Pamela Steel present cooking weekends at Woodland B&B. The next one is scheduled for the beginning of March, 2004, and is just one of many specialty weekends offered.

Enjoy Musselman hospitality in ‘Olde Muskoka Comfort’ at Woodland Springs B&B.
