Muskoka Escapades of Town Criers will be in Bracebridge on July 12th  

 
  The exciting and colourful, Second Annual  -
"Muskoka Escapades of Town Criers"  will be in Bracebridge on Saturday, July 12th, 2003. The event this year has been expanded to a two “Cry” competition sponsored by Swiss Chalet.  There will be five judges for each segment of the competition.

  The first Cry commences at Santa’s Village at 10.00 am. The cry content shall be of any Christmas theme that the Crier wishes to give. The Criers and their Escorts in period dress may also be seen around the village, possibly on the miniature train ride or the Kris Kringle Boat Cruise. Come out and visit with them!

  At 12:30 noon, the Criers and Escorts will be at J.D. Lang Park, Bracebridge to participate in the Steam Parade at the Muskoka Pioneer Power Show.  The second cry will be given commencing at 2:00 pm at this Power Show. These cries will address humorous, pioneer life.

  Criers this year will be traveling from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Michigan, in the United States to attend, in addition to another ten to twelve Criers from throughout Ontario. Last years “First Place” winner, Crier Art Lapointe, shall once again represent his community of the Town of the Blue Mountains. 

  Many of the Town Criers and Escorts will be seen cruising aboard the beautiful Lady Muskoka in full regalia the following day, Sunday, courtesy of Lady Muskoka Cruises. Come out and meet these community ambassadors!

  Awards will be presented by Swiss Chalet to the top three Criers, the Best Dressed Escort and Best Ambassador.
