  Tamwood Resort on Lake Muskoka

Tamwood Resort's log lodge, at over 130 feet long, is considered to be one of the longest log buildings in Canada. Originally built in the late 1940's using local timber the building is the very heart of the resort, symbolising traditional Muskoka values while offering up-to-date facilities to meet the needs of today's families.

Housing the bulk of the resort's accommodations the mainlodge also features an indoor heated pool and hot tub -- a favourite haunt at this time of year. Other fall activities include golfing, with a fun 9 hole course just across the road and many other challenging courses nearby. Touring the lakes to take in the fall colours, hiking on of Muskoka's many trails, Tamwood's own special Thankgiving weekend, or attending fall events such as the Cranberry Festival in nearby Bala are other popular fall pursuits.

Tamwood's accommodation ranges from standard or superior rooms in the main lodge to a number of superbly appointed lakeside units, featuring such amenities as whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, private walkouts, B.C fir beams with skylights in bedrooms, (in 'The Lofts'), bar refrigerators, T.Vs, 4 p.c. washrooms and wonderful views overlooking the lake.

Meals are an important part of any vacation and Tamwood does not disappoint. Their Four Star rating means excellent meals served in the Main Dining Lounge, complete with a magnificent floor to ceiling granite fireplaces and lakeside view.

The Conference Centre, also part of the main lodge, is well-suited for small to medium size conferences, seminars, or social group functions. Personal service, a friendly atmosphere and complete privacy make Tamwood an ideal retreat. Three expertly prepared meals and 2 coffee breaks are served daily in the Log Room Lounge, which also boasts a floor to ceiling granite fireplace and view of the lake.

Located on the north shore of Lake Muskoka between Bracebridge and Port Carling, Tamwood owns a 1000 foot long level lake front property on secluded Willow Bay, just made for all kinds of recreational activities. Summer vacationers enjoy tennis on one of the 3 courts, a game of basketball, shuffleboard, or take to the lakeshore for kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboating. The sandy beach is perfect for family swimming, and a boat lauch is available. Or just bask in the sun and do nothing at all.
