Accommodations
Enjoy winter fun and relaxation at Shamrock Lodge by Doug Smith

“Almost any winter activity can be done at Shamrock Lodge,” says Tim Bryant, co-owner of the resort along with his brother Tim and their families since 1980. He lists off a number of traditional winter activities -- cross-country skiing, outdoor skating, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing  -- stressing that they will also arrange any rentals of equipment needed for their guests.

The lodge’s lakeside setting in the heart of Muskoka makes it ideal for all this winter fun. Thirteen kilometres of groomed and track set cross-country ski trails traverse the property, the skating rink is lit at night, many OFSC snowmobile trails are close by, and the lake is just out the front door for anyone wanting to do ice-fishing. Tobogganing is also part of the family fun at the resort in the wintertime.

After all these outdoor activities in the cold guests can warm up in the indoor pool and hot-tub, have a game of table tennis or billiards, and enjoy the cozy ambience of their Hot Stove lounge.

Shamrock’s secluded cabins, and separate, two-storey chalet includes their own

fireplaces, plus Jacuzzi tubs and loft beds. The Main Lodge hosts traditional, Muskoka style accommodations, with most rooms including a spectacular views of the lake.

This year Shamrock is featuring a new retreat package with local artist Elke Scholz. “Enjoy a weekend of relaxation, gentle breathing and playful painting.  Elke will begin each session with demonstrations and will be available for quality one on one instruction and tutoring. The step-by-step program is easy and approachable for the beginner and intermediate painter.  Classes are small to insure a quality experience.” Shamrock’s all-inclusive price includes professional artist materials, Muskoka Century Lodge accommodation, all delicious meals and baking done by in house Chef, and all taxes. Space is limited to twenty participants.

Delicious home cooked meals are prepared at every offering by Chef Al Eatock, who stands by a long tradition of selecting only the freshest and finest ingredients. Some sample dinner entrees include Medallions of Pork in a mushroom and onion cream sauce, Roast Prime Rib and Yorkshire Pudding and Fillet of Salmon and Scallops Italienne. There is a separate children’s menu, separate dining rooms for adults, families, and one just for the kids.
