Scott's of Muskoka is a treasure house for Christmas browsing

For over a quarter of a century Scott’s of Muskoka has been the headquarters for regional books, hydrographic and topographic maps, custom framing, art supplies and fine art. Located just up from the falls in historic downtown Bracebridge, this unique destination store offers three beautiful floors brimming with gifts, D.A. Dunford posters, prints, original Muskoka art and crafts and great ideas for cottage country reading. The stores assortment of books includes bestsellers, new releases for Christmas giving and the largest selection of ‘Muskoka’ books found anywhere.

Among their over 30 gallery artists are some of the finest painters, potters, sculptors and craft persons found anywhere in Canada. Show and sale events throughout the year highlight a wide variety of talented artisans including Kate Grigg, Nora Telford, Marion Stevenson, Mel Delija, John Harrington, Jim Simpson and many more. Scott’s of Muskoka also features the spectacular oils of Michael Roth, celebrated artist and art teacher, offering the area’s largest selection of his work.

For many years Scott’s was the home gallery of Robert Everett. Considered the dean of Muskoka artists, Mr. Everett’s work can be found in private and corporate collections around the world. The historic upstairs showroom has been completely restored and dedicated to his memory. With elegant décor and much improved lighting it makes an excellent venue for special showings. The original wood ceilings have been restored, the graceful arched windows uncovered, and a beautiful Victorian fireplace has been added for early and late season events.

Scott’s of Muskoka, Muskoka’s unique bookstore and art gallery, is a treasure house for Christmas browsing. A fall tribute from the gallery artists is now in full swing, and new collections from Muskoka favourites such as Pam Wong, Lynda Lynn, Eddie LePage, Kent Taylor, and Dan Werstuk are on display. For fine art, a very special gift, that favourite poster, or a new coffee table book to celebrate the season, Scott’s of Muskoka is always worth a visit.
