Accommodations
Rocky Crest Resort's rugged good looks keep guests coming back for more by Kim Kerr

Some things in life just keep getting better over time. Like a fine wine, a strong cheddar, my husband (honest!)… and Muskoka’s famed Rocky Crest Resort.

Managed by the Delta Hotel group (and owned by ClubLink), Rocky Crest Resort has in the past year undergone major renovations that have helped secure the property’s rightful place as one of Muskoka’s finest resorts. Overlooking Lake Joseph on 700 acres of prime woodland, Rocky Crest offers some of the region’s most comfortable lodgings. From charming one- and two-bedroom guestrooms to dual-level penthouse suites – all with the sort of modern conveniences you’d expect from a premier resort – Rocky Crest has much to offer the overnight or long-stay visitor (the resort boasts 65 rooms in all).

And the resort’s Lake Joseph Dining Room provides the kind of first-rate casual fine-dining experience visitors and residents alike have come to expect from Muskoka’s top restaurants. As the name suggests, your meal comes served with an excellent lake view, and the ambience is further enhanced by a lofty cathedral ceiling and cozy stone fireplace.

Rocky Crest has also been blessed with some of the region’s most exhilarating golfing terrain. The resort’s 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Thomas McBroom, has earned rave reviews for its distinctive granite outcroppings and log-cabin-style clubhouse and in fact made its debut as the number four course in all of Ontario in 2001.
For those able to pull themselves away from the excellent golf course, the resort offers a range of activities including swimming (there’s a beach and an outdoor pool), tennis, basketball, water skiing and sailing.

In need of a little pampering? Then pop into the resort’s Amba Health and Beauty Spa for one of their acclaimed holistic beauty treatments, including massages, facials and aromatherapies.

Special Packages

Rocky Crest Resort also offers a variety of special packages throughout the year. Given its location bang smack in the middle of some of the best ATV (all terrain vehicle) territory in Canada, the resort has established a unique ATV program. The Adventure Experience Package costs $428 per night and includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner, a 1/2 day adventure taking in the spectacular Canadian Shield scenery and the use of two vehicles and equipment.

The rugged terrain surround Rocky Crest also makes the resort a prime destination for snowmobilers. Located in the Parry Sound Snowmobile District, the resort is directly linked to the exciting network of trails that criss-cross Muskoka. Non-snowmobilers can participate in cross-country skiing, dogsledding or skating.
