On
Sunday, September 19/04, Rosseau Lake College will host
a Terry Fox Run in support of cancer research. The run
will start on the main campus of the College at 10:00am.
After participants complete the eight kilometer route,
they will be treated to the outstanding, traditional
Sunday brunch
at the school.
Participants
are encouraged to collect pledges for their contribution
to the cancer research. There is no entry fee for the
event and if someone wishes to participate and has no
pledges, they are asked to make a donation to the cause.
The
route is a scenic, eight kilometer loop that starts on
the main campus of the College and goes through Muskoka
Woods trails out to Muskoka Road
#3. It then returns to Rosseau along #3 to Hwy #141 and
into the College main entrance. The finish line is close
to the dining hall, where the brunch is served. The
route makes a good run or a pleasant walk. There will be
volunteers along the route making sure no one takes a
wrong turn. Water will be available at the start, the
half way point and at the
finish.
Terry
Fox Run tee shirts will be available for purchase, with
proceeds adding to the funds raised for cancer research.
This
is the third year Rosseau Lake College has hosted a
Terry Fox event and is expecting over 80 participants
who will add to the $6,000+ already
raised from past events.
So lace up your
running or walking shoes, collect some good pledges and
join the fun and exercise at Rosseau Lake College for
the Terry Fox event.
