With
1500 feet of lakefront on a southern exposure on Peninsula
Lake, just outside of Huntsville in Muskoka, Pow Wow Point
Lodge has a little bit of everything for the summer
vacationer. Take in all the
various waterfront activities with your family – swimming,
canoeing, windsurfing, and kayaking – savour the scrumptious
meals, and relax in the well-kept accommodations. Dedicated
Pow Wow staff work hard to satisfy your every need.
Weekly events in the summer
include volleyball, water tubing, mini-Olympics, a sunset
cruise, Bar-B-Q’s, campfires and more. The 3 to 12 year olds
are kept interested with their own daily children’s program,
available during July and August.
Hike
the 5.7 kilometre nature trail on Pow Wow’s own thirty-five
acres of open and wooded transition forest, or venture further
afield to nearby Algonquin Park and the Leslie Frost Centre
for the day. Explore the variety of unique shopping stores,
country markets, antique and craft shops as well as several
scenic attractions in nearby Huntsville and other communities.
There are a number of superb golf courses nearby, including
the championship Deerhurst course.
Pow Wow’s accommodations range from standard rooms to
spacious cottages to deluxe suites, all well attended by their
staff. Owners
Doug and Dee Howell are continually renovating and adding to
the resort to make their guests stay more comfortable, and
meet the growing demand for deluxe, quality accommodation.
The meal plan is full
American, providing three delicious meals daily. Favorites
include their prime rib or roast beef with Yorkshire pudding,
and homemade butter tarts for dessert.
Doug and Dee have operated
the lodge since 1989, continuing the tradition of Howell
Hospitality started by Doug’s parents, Jack and Jacquie, in
1969. The high percentage of repeat clientele attests to the
quality of Howell Hospitality.
