Now
winter’s finally given way to spring we can turn our
attention to things that really matter… like where to spend
those all important vacation days.
If
you’re looking for that traditional Muskokan experience,
make sure you’ve got Pinelands Resort on your shortlist.
This full service family run resort located just outside Port
Carling (say hello to the Brysons for us!), open May to
October, offers the kind of holiday experience you won’t
soon forget. Pinelands recently announced its 2002 packages,
and there’s something on offer for everyone. From May 24 –
26 the resort is hosting a special Wine and Dine Weekend,
which includes a cruise on Lake Joseph on a private Pontoon
boat and an evening sampling wines from Pelee Island along
with your meal (costs from $279).
The
health conscious won’t want to miss the Health and Wellness
Weekend (May 31 - June 2). Enjoy meditation or Tai chi on the
resort’s front lawn, relax with a massage and participate in
lectures on healthy eating and stress management. The weekend
includes two meals a day and use of all facilities, as well as
entertainment on the Saturday (costs from $299).
For
something really special, Pinelands has joined forces with the
folks at the Muskoka Lakes Navigation and Hotel Company to put
on a cruise program aboard the Wenonah II, the newest addition
to the Muskoka Fleet that includes the RMS Segwun. The one
hour and 15 minute trip around Lake Joseph departs
Pineland’s every Wednesday in the summer months, and
includes lunch at Pinelands.
A room with a view
No
matter where you stay at Pinelands, your accommodations will
include air-conditioning, a small refrigerator, private bath,
individually controlled heating, TV's… and, best of all,
most units have a lake view. And there’s a large variety of
accommodation to choose from. For those wanting nothing but
the best, a number of deluxe cottages are available. The
largest of these is a four-room cottage big enough to house
the whole clan, and then some!
Not
that you’ll want to spend all your time in your room or
cottage… there’s simply so much to do. Activities include
everything from children's and adult programs, tennis,
water-skiing and fishing. To top it all, the resort has its
own 750 ft sandy beach.
