If
you have never cruised on any of the Big 3 lakes in Muskoka,
you really haven’t seen Muskoka. The Muskoka Fleet, based
out of their home port in Gravenhurst, offers a choice of
ships and cruises to see the beautiful Muskoka lakes.
The Segwun is the oldest
operating steamship in North America. Built in 1887 and with a
capacity of 99 and two dining rooms, it is the last of a fleet
of steamships that carried passengers and mail throughout
Muskoka before the days of the automobile. Passengers truly
"step back in time" as they board the Segwun and
relive the romance and nostalgia of Muskoka's past.
The Wanda III is an elegant
yacht commissioned in 1915 for Mrs. Timothy Eaton of the Eaton
department stores. Lovingly restored to mint condition, it
remains the finest example of Muskoka's private steam era.
Wanda III is available for private charter and provides an
ideal setting for any select gathering of up to 24 guests.
The Wenonah II was built
with all the style and grace of a 1907 Muskoka vessel. Wenonah
II has joined the R.M.S. Segwun, offering a variety of daily
cruises on all three of the Muskoka lakes. With passenger
comfort at the forefront, Wenonah II accommodates up to 200
passengers and features lavish furnishings throughout.
Combining turn of-the-century charm with modern convenience,
passengers can enjoy 3 on board dining rooms complete with
air-conditioning, 3 viewing decks, air-conditioning and even
an elevator.
Cruise season starts this
month and runs into October, with a great variety of day and
overnight cruises.
Special
occasions cruises let you celebrate a
wedding,
anniversaries, birthday or host a
corporate
event aboard any of the ships. For
an exclusive touch to your special occasion, the Segwun,
Wenonah II and the Wanda III may be chartered for private use.
A cruise is a unique addition to
your conference package and a wonderful way to show
appreciation to employees and clients. They'll even fly your
company flag from the bow of the ship as you cruise the along
the shorelines of the Muskoka Lakes.
If you're at one of
Muskoka's famous resorts, they may be able to make a house
call, complete with food and musical entertainment. Overnight
cruises allow you to join the life of the "rich and
famous". An overnight voyage is a magical Muskoka
experience, featuring the best in resort accommodations,
gourmet dining and unmatched scenery aboard the grandest of
vessels, the RMS Segwun or the Wenonah II. Whether it’s a
one or two night cruise package, the overnight cruise promises
luxury and pampering and guaranteed "Fleet"
hospitality.
All cruises depart and
return from Gravenhurst Wharf. Rates are quoted on a
per-person, double occupancy. Tax and gratuity are additional.
