Bracebridge and Muskoka have a new restaurant – Kelsey’s. This long awaited addition to the region is located next to the Sleep Inn on Highway 118 west. If the attendance at the pre-opening Bracebridge Chamber’s Business After Hours held in January is any indication of the restaurants popularity, it is destined to be a busy place.

  All the usual tried, tested and true Kelsey’s products are available, of course. Appetizers include such favourites as their Chicken Wings, “An original item from 1978. After 25 years, we feel we have the perfect wing and the tastiest sauces this side of Buffalo. Fried crisp, sauced mild, medium, hot, honey garlic, or lemon pepper dusted. Served with carrots and celery sticks.” Or start with a Party Platter, Nachos, Bruschetta, or something new, such as Toasted Herb Focaccia and Tomato Feta Dip, or a Share Combo, “a combo of our toasted herb focaccia bread with tomato feta dip, chicken wings and three crispy breaded shrimp with cocktail sauce for dipping.” A great start.

  For lunch try some of Kelsey’s favourite burgers ands sandwiches, such as a New York Steak Sandwich, Cracked Peppercorn Burger, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich or others. Their salad selection includes a Seafood Greek Salad, a Cajun Chicken Caesar Salad and their Classic Seafood Caesar Salad. Or try their new Sonoma Valley Salad, “Assorted mixed greens with roma tomato wedges, green and red peppers tossed in honey citrus vinaigrette. Topped with toasted cashews, almonds, pumpkin, sunflower seeds, toasted croutons and crumbled feta.” That’s enough to be satisfied already, though there is lots more yet.

  Main dishes include such mouthwatering delights as Blackened Salmon, Lemon Peppered Salmon, and Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya. More chicken and seafood dishes are available, as well as pasta, such as Goat Cheese Ravioli and Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Kelsey’s also serves a Rib and Wing combo, their famous Pork Side Ribs, and a Konglomeration – “This plate combines a half rack of our famous charbroiled pork side ribs and our chicken wings with deep-fried breaded shrimp. Served with Kelsey’s fries and creamy coleslaw.”

  Kids do well at Kelsey’s, too, with a great choice of favourites, such as Pizza, Grilled Cheese sandwiches, Chicken Tenders, Penne pasta and more.

  All of these are served up by a friendly and helpful staff.
