Judy and David come to The Op this March by Bryan Dearsley

Looking for some light entertainment to beat the February blahs? Then pack-up your troubles – and your kids – and head over to the Gravenhurst Opera House to see Canada’s best-loved children’s performers, Judy and David!

Recently-nominated with a Juno Award for Best Children's Recording for their Once Upon a Tune CD, BeanStock, this fun duo are set to thrill Muskokans of all ages with a special performance March 9th (show commences at 1 p.m., and all seats are $15). The new CD – which will be performed at The Op – is a groovy new musical version of Jack and the Beanstalk, complete with sing-along songs, sound effects and character dialogue. (The CD also features a guest appearance by Canadian pop diva Jann Arden, and samples can be heard on their website.)

After seeing their show, it’s obvious Judy and David love one thing more than their music... their audience. The show’s fun-filled songs reveal the couple’s (they were married in 1991) genuine love of children.

“We do believe in bringing people together through music,” said David in an interview posted on their website. “If you're at a concert with hundreds of other people having a common experience, it builds bonds. We want to give kids the feeling that they're part of the music."

The pair's songs are especially “tuned-in” to what matters to preschoolers and early graders, brought off with a light and whimsical touch – not to mention contagious melodies and appealing arrangements.
