You
have received a beautiful piece of signed art for
Christmas, (or a gorgeous photo of the kids/grandkids,
etc.) and need it framed – where to go? Muskoka boasts
a number of custom framing shops located throughout the
region.
Located
on Bracebridge’s main drag of Manitoba Street,
Martin’s Framing Centre offers a complete custom
framing service. Choose from their wide choice of frames
and mats, and let owner Jim Burns and his staff
professionally frame your prized possession. The store
itself is a visual delight, with many local artists work
intermixed with the well-known works of such artists as
James Lumbers.
Scott’s
of Muskoka is also located on Manitoba Street in
Bracebridge. While not doing as much custom work as they
did at one time Scott’s still offers the service.
Something of an icon in town, Scott’s is best known as
a ‘headquarters for Muskoka Art’ Over 30 Muskoka
artists’ work, including paintings, sculptures and
pottery, are featured on 3 floors. D.A. Dunford prints
and posters are available, along with prints of Robert
Emerson Everett colourful works, and a wide assortment
of steamship paintings and prints. Scott’s also
carries a complete assortment of cottage country books,
Muskoka maps, and “the largest selection of books on
Muskoka found anywhere”.
Huntsville’s
Framing Place also features many Muskoka artists, as
well as a large selection of
Tom Thomson and the Group Of Seven, including

Milne, Emily Carr – are also featured, along with a
selection of ‘Algonquin Park’ art.
Located
on King William Street right in downtown Huntsville, the
Framing Place also does custom framing of all kinds.
Their Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven gallery
not only offers “beautifully framed prints of their
legendary work” but also has on view “the enhanced
prints in five different framing styles or just on their
own”.

they also offer many framing options. If you have
