'Unforgettable Hits' on Foxy 88.5 FM by Doug Smith

  The Foxy radio station at 88.5 FM regularly states they play ‘unforgettable hits’ and ‘the very best music ever recorded’. If you enjoy oldies tunes, but not necessarily rocky, then Foxy may be just what you are looking for.

Tunes by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Barbra Streisand, John Denver, Stevie Wonder, ABBA and Linda Ronstadt, and more are all played on Foxy almost non-stop. It’s an easy listening station with a format that has proven very popular since they changed to the ‘new’ Foxy in September 2001. They are now heard across the GTA and north to Gravenhurst, west to Brampton, and east to Oshawa. Foxy is also available on Rogers Cable on the following frequencies;

Newmarket: 107.5,

Orillia, Barrie & Pinkerton: 101.9

Scarborough, Pickering, Markham, Richmond Hill

and Bolton: 106.1

Foxy is available on Cogeco Cable in:

Peterborough: 94.1

Huntsville: 102.5

The newest addition to the Evanov Radio Group, which also owns and operates Foxy's sister stations, the new Z103.5FM -- the hits music channel, and AM530 multicultural radio, Foxy’s unforgettable hits are aimed at the 35 to 64 year old group, with an estimated listening audience of over 200,000.

Small wonder, considering the proven popularity of the music and the range of their coverage area. Programming includes a lively morning show during the week, with supplementary information to suit the unforgettable hits format, such as Celebrity birthday's & events and Hollywood Headlines. Variations include a Saturday night Café Jazz feature from 10 pm to 1am, and Sunday morning ‘Unforgettable Hits Amore’, with Pina Sama and Tony Monaco playing today's hottest Italian artists, from 9:30 am to 10am.

The station’s on-air personalities are no strangers to radio, music or the previous formats at 88.5. Gary Gamble, Station Manager, does the weekday mornings including the contests, trivia, wacky but true news and the 8:30 joke of the morning. Adam Robinson, News Director and Operations Manager, teams up with Gary, Richard Corell takes care of the middays, while Barry White takes care of afternoons and early evenings.
