Fall Fairs, farmer's markets, Octoberfests and more in Muskoka this fall 

 

Fairs are as much a part of fall as back to school and the leaves turning colour. Muskoka boasts any number of traditional fall fairs, some with well over 100 years of history, as well as some other fall events, making for a great excuse to get out for a drive in the country in the fall.


Fall Fairs


  The 136th Annual Bracebridge Agricultural Society Fall Fair & Horse Show takes place at the Bracebridge Fairgrounds September 12-14.  Call (705) 645-4223 for more information.

  Huntsville Fall Fair takes place at the Huntsville Fairgrounds September 19-21. For more information contact Violet Earl at (705)789-5982 or the Fall office at (705)789-9540.

 

Farmer’s markets

 

The Gravenhurst Farmer's Market, (voted Best Seasonal Market in Ontario) is on until October 8. The market runs every Wednesday from 9am to 2pm, and includes special event days, free coffee and weekly prizes. Come savour the flavour of Muskoka! For more information call 705-684-8731.

  The Bracebridge Farmer's Market runs until October 11. Located in Memorial Park, in the heart of downtown Bracebridge, it is open Saturdays,  rain or shine. A fifteen year tradition, offering farm fresh produce, arts and crafts, baked goodies, smoked fish and cured meats, honey, maple syrup, fruits, perennials and annuals. Take a stroll through the park, visit with the vendors and take home a taste of Muskoka.

  Huntsville Farmer's Market is on until October 30th, every Thursday from 9am to 2pm. Market highlights include special event days such as Father's Day Basket Draw, Christmas in July and Customer Appreciation Day.

Katrine Octoberfest at the Katrine Community Centre on Hwy 11 September 13.

  Logging Days Festival September 19-21. The Parry Sound area celebrates its heritage at the Georgian Bay Timber Sport Championships and the Canadian Timber Sport Championships. Best from the West compete against the Best from the East. Food, entertainment and much more! Part of this celebration includes the Logging Days Festival Night of Fiddling at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in parry Sound, September 19. Featuring explosive Canadian step dancing and fiddling.

  End of Summer Dock Party at Lumina Resort September 25, at 5 p.m. Tickets are $35 plus GST. Silent Auction items are needed for this fundraiser.   The 25th Annual Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour takes place September 27&28.
