Christine
Marshall is known as “Canada’s First Lady of
Wildlife Art”. Inspired by the majestic beauty of the
rugged Ontario northland in which she lives, Christine
captures nature on canvas in a unique, deeply sensitive
and highly detailed style.
One of Canada's foremost wildlife artists, Christine
began painting over 35 years ago. She has owned and
managed a successful gallery for over 30 years in
Ontario, specializing in acrylic on canvas and wildlife
and nature paintings.
Her “Romantic Realist” style paintings have
captured the imaginations of animal lovers from coast to
coast. Few
artists on the contemporary scene have achieved the
level of success she presently enjoys or the
international acclaim her work has received.
Very few painters of wildlife have brought to the
field a fresher approach to painting animals than
Christine. Her research has taken her throughout the
world.
Muskoka
has been a place of unending inspiration for Christine
Marshall for many years. The beautiful village of Bala
is a jewel set amongst the sparkling lakes and rugged
rocks of the Muskoka landscape in Northern Ontario. Now
that she has made her home and new studio-gallery there,
it will fulfill her inner desire to totally immerse
herself in nature and the wildlife she loves to paint.
It also boasts a close community of talented artisans.
