When
R.J. Siberry came to Canada from his native Ireland in the
early 1900's, he built "Goldenview Cottage" on Lake
Muskoka for his family to enjoy. From there he often sat on
the verandah dreaming of building a guest house which he could
use to entertain his friends and share with them the beauty of
Muskoka. His dream came true in 1930 when he built the Main
Lodge. He named his guesthouse, Bangor Lodge, after Bangor,
Ireland, where he spent his holidays back in his homeland. In
1948, George Siberry, one of RJ's brothers owned the lodge
until 1969 when their nephew Ken Siberry took over. Today,
Bangor Lodge is managed by David Siberry, son of Ken and Jean
Siberry.
Located
on Lake Muskoka approximately 6 kilometres west of Bracebridge
on Golden Beach Road, Bangor Lodge is open June to Labour Day
for you and your friends to enjoy the beauty of Muskoka.
