Busy weekend for Bala: Antiques, arts and crafts make Bala the place to be September 29th and 30th by Kim Kerr

Bala promises to be a bustling place September 29th and 30th. The busy weekend schedule promises to draw visitors from across the region and beyond for a variety of exciting events.

  Leading the field is the Antique Show and Sale at the Bala Sports Arena on Maple Street. Admission for the two-day event is $4, and opening times are Saturday 10 a.m to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For further details, contact event organizer Peter Sutton-Smith at 705-484-1668

  The same weekend sees the Bala Legion on Maple Street host the Cottage Country Art Show and Sale. The event kicks off Saturday 29th at 10 a.m., closing at 5 p.m., opening again Sunday 30th at 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission is free. For further details, contact  Vic Sanders at 705-762-5636.

  Finally, the Bala Gift and Craft Fair takes place at the Bala Community Centre on  Maple Street on Saturday 29th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, and Sunday 30th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – admission is free. For further information contact Edna Templeton at 705-762-3260.
