Artemis Piano Grand Opening in their new showroom and rebuilding shop

Artemis Piano is moving. After being in their Windermere location since 1991 they have decided to move to Gravenhurst.

“It’s a logistics thing,” says co-owner Lynne Jarvis. “Our residential market has expanded greatly into the Orillia area in the last two years,” she explains, adding that Margaret, (who is also a co-owner) is now the concert technician for Rama Casino in Orillia. “Kawai pianos, for whom we sell a lot of pianos, also wanted us to have a store front on a main street in a central location,” says Lynne.

The new location is at 150 Hotchkiss, just around the corner from the Opera House, in Gravenhurst. The Grand Opening will take place March 2nd, but there will be special pricing and events throughout the month of March.

“We are having a sale on all new stock, including all accessories,” says Lynne. This includes a big reduction on one of their Baby Grand piano models, a 5 foot 3 inch Samick with a mahogany veneer finish, from $14,000.00 to $11,000.00. “That offer is on for the first two weeks of March,” Lynne explains. They are also offering 5 door prizes throughout the month, with the first prize being a Panasonic 61 note portable keyboard, which retails at $650.00. Other prizes include a quality music stand, a framed print of a Grand Piano, and protective runners for the top of an upright piano.

“On the 19th and 20th there will be a Kawai factory sale,” says Lynne. This will include the regional sales representative in attendance to give special discounts on their Kawai pianos.

A full service piano business, offering expertise in tuning, repairs, rebuilding, restoration and sales of new and used pianos, Artemis Piano has been servicing the Muskoka and Parry Sound area for 13 years.

Lynn is a qualified shop technician, and Margaret is a guild technician (PTG). Margaret is also the only local technician with a working knowledge of maintaining the Yamaha Disklavier pianos, which requires attending yearly seminars and constantly upgrading skill level. Artemis also operates a full rebuilding shop, as both Lynn and Margaret are experienced and highly skilled rebuilders.

The technician of choice for a number of well-known Toronto and GTA based piano dealers, Artemis does a good deal of institutional work, looking after the school pianos for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board as well as for a number of hospitals and churches.

"We are successful because we care about the instrument," Lynn explains, adding that, "we understand the emotional connection between the pianos and the owner. We offer prompt and professional service, and we follow up on all initial calls to make sure that everything is OK."

New piano dealers for Kawai and Samick pianos, selling new, acoustic pianos from entry level uprights to concert grands, Artemis is also able to provide full service backup on all pianos they sell. Their used pianos come with a one-year full warranty and a free tuning. "We welcome people to the showroom and we emphasize that it's OK not to buy," says Lynn. "Come and learn about the piano," she says, adding, "bring your children, and, yes it is OK to play them all."

Piano lessons will also be available in the showroom starting March 8th. More information is available at the Artemis website at www.muskoka.com/artemispiano. Or call the new location at 705.684.8449 after March 2nd.
